My 2008 resolution

I want to knit myself socks!!!!

Seriously, I do. The only thing is that I don't know how to knit.
So, my real 2008 resolution is to learn to knit. There are 365 days in one year and you probably think that these days are enough to learn to knit. But not for me... Here is a little story about me.

I crochet with my left hand. And when I try to learn to knit my right hand just doesn't want to listen. Then I'm screaming and cursing at laud. And believe me, you don't want to be near me then. It's 10 times worse than PMS.

I remember that I had this feeling also when I was 10 and my mother was teaching me how to crochet. I learned to crochet then, but I didn't like crocheting at all. And you now why is that? Because I was crocheting with my right hand. Maybe 6-7 years later I tried to crochet again. And in a surprise to me this time I liked tho whole process. When I crochet I feel relaxed and it calms me down a LOT. And when I started crocheting again I didn't even realized that I was using my left hand. The tutorials that I was using was for left hand, too.

I want to learn how to knit. Actually I could say that I know how to knit, but I probably need to practice my right hand. The left one does her work but I still need to use my right one so I can hold the needle and the yarn at the same time. Probably all my problems will be solved with more practice.

I am a left handed crocheter too and I've thought of knitting for a while now but I don't know anyone who does it around here and it looks complicated. And then part of me thinks that I just want to knit because it seems more glamorous than crocheting even though crocheting fun in itself.

Knitting is fun! I do both crochet and knitting. I am sure if you Google left hand knitting you can find somewhere there to learn, that was how I learned crochet... Or ask at Ravelry, maybe someone can explain. Have a nice week!

Years ago I tried knitting and it just didn't go well for me. I learned how to crochet when I was like 15 and was just okay at it. Years later I picked crocheting back up and am much better at it now. Last year I crocheted some socks and they turned out pretty good. I do know that knitted socks look much better than crocheted ones. Best wishes to you on your knitting.

MOžda bih ti mogla pomoći sa instrukcijama za pletenje lijevom rukom? Imam ih u knjizi popraćene slikama. Želim ti također sretan rođendan ;-)

If you are left handed than you need to learn knitting for left handed people. There is a book published by Mladinska Knjiga named "Pletenje" and I am 100% sure that inside you'll find illustrated instructions for left hand knitting.

Drenka napisala si da imaš tkalački stan, pa bi bilo lijepo da nam ga slikaš i pokažeš na svom blogu.
Tvoji radovi su super.
