DIY idea - Hoodie

This makes such a great DIY idea. Take one hooded tunic or a hooded sweatshirt and crochet stripes in a "v mesh" crochet pattern. For those of you who don't know how to crochet, you can buy crocheted ribbon and sew it on a  hooded tunic . This one is definitely something that I should try making in the future. I would wear it proudly!

Crochet stencils and t-shirts

After seeing at Anthropologie crochet stenciled garments, I had to do i t my self. I like it! It is even better than I imagined.

Free Form Crochet Sculpture //

I seem to be amazed by crochet sculptures lately. I love this idea of putting simple shapes on a piece of board and make a picture out of it. You can see Rachel's works on her blog Cornflower Blue. She has other amazing sculptures there. Also you can check out her instructions on how to make your very own nature inspired work

Dorothy Perkins dress

Green crochet drawstring dress

I like this dress. The price is affordable also. This could be a nice summer project for me.

What do you think about doing it in this color? This is a cotton yarn from my stash.

Cloudy days

I hate cloudy days. That means bad pictures for my cute work :D

Yesterday was a good and shiny day full of craftiness. I sewed a simple summer dress for myself and made necklaces. I hope for a nice summery day so I can model my dress.

You see, I am not only about posting crochet works that I found on the web. I do crochet and craft sometimes. Also, I have a new big crochet project and don't have any spare time to craft anything else. Pictures coming soon.

Copper necklace

One of the simplest ways to make a necklace!!!

Make a lot of strings of beads and tie them together. Easy as that and done very quickly. I buy these beads that are already on a thread so I did the necklace in seconds.

Anthropologie inspired

When you start going to work every day you think more and more about style and jewelry. Looking at Anthropologie I am getting a lot of ideas and decided to make something for myself.
I hope you like them!

The second necklace is actually a copy of this one, I liked it so much I had to make it!

Felt flower-broach on a bag

I went to a wedding.Wore a black dress, white shoes and white pearl necklace.

I wanted to carry a bag that combine white and black together, but didn't have anything appropriate. I only had a black envelope bag.

Made this flower using felt cloth and black beads. It looks lovely now. I didn't want to sew the flower and made it as a broach.

Jewelry box and Ravelry RAK

My first shabby chic!!!!

I used a tin box from an old perfume box. I have always used this box as a jewelry box and never liked how it looked. At first, I was thinking of painting it white and just apply the napkin on the top. I didn't want the "shabby look". But after I applied the white paint in several coats with a brush I realized that I can never make it good enough to keep it like that. The white was never perfect and smooth enough. Then I scratched the surface and turned it in to a "shabby box".

Also I have been lucky enough to receive "RAK in Europe" gifts from Ravelry members. As you can see I got a lot of napkins, post stamps, handmade cards, decoupage materials, Tea and 100% Linen. Special thanks to Akina78 (pic No1), TessVintageKnits (pic No.2), Breiboek (pic No.3) and Knittermarie (pic No.4),

Lindolina's swap and my new shoes

I am not blogging lately...But I have been crafting, I promise!

First, let me show you what Lindolina made for me. This box is perfect for storing my business cards. I love it!!! And the bracelet looks even better on my hand!

Now, let's move on something else that I have been happy about lately. I wanted to try and paint shoes before but never had the courage to do it. And I finally did it. Bought new and cheep leather shoes and when I say cheap, I mean cheap - 2 Euros!!!! I like them but didn't like the color.

For this "makeover" I used black and gold textile color. To be honest I used textile color because I didn't know what else I could use . This choice seemed smart at that time and it turned out even better that I expected.
This process meant applying the color on the shoe 4-5 times until I was happy with the result. After each coat of paint I brushed the shoe with a towel. If you try it you will be getting worried about brushing the paint off. But trust me this is OK and you are on the right path.

You will notice that after applying each coat of paint you can see the brush strokes. Whipping the paint with a towel will make them disappear but at the same time some of amount of paint will remain on the shoe. So as I said, after 4-5 coats of paint you will be happy with the result.

Happy Easter

I crocheted the red egg two years ago. The remaining three were done this year.
I used the drill to make the holes on the white one. I like the effect, but don't have a clue on how to clean the dirt inside . I tried washing it, but didn't work.
The remaining two eggs were decoupaged.

Tie necklace, my swap for Lindolina and a broach

I did another necklace. I used a tie, buttons and a ribbon. It was a quick project with a wonderful result. I already got some nice compliments about it. If you see it in person it looks a lot better than this photo that I took.

Me and Lindolina agreed to make a swap. She wanted me to make her some crocheted flowers and I was happy to do it. I like how the red one turned. These are the flowers that I made for her, but also added a little surprise for her in the envelope.

At the last photo you can see the flower broach that I made this morning. I started to crochet with no clue what I will make. Decided to crochet in the round and then figure out what I will make of it.It wasn't long until I figured out that I can easily make flowers by combining circles in different sizes. So after 10 minutes, three circles done and one button I had this result. I added a safety pin at the back there it is my very own flower broach.
